Disaster is looming: your four-year-old, after becoming bored with making finger paintings on the wall with chocolate pudding, has found his way up onto the couch beneath the thermostat. When I was in college, I rented a house a few miles away from campus with a few other students. Each of us shared a few traits in common. We were all extremely messy, extremely nerdy and extremely cheap. Membrane Keyboards vs. Non-Membrane Keyboards

Unlike the overwhelming majority of computers today, many of the earliest personal computers available to consumers were equipped with membrane keyboards. What’s the difference between early PC keyboards and most keyboards today? There’s a very good chance that you’re looking at this text on a computer, so if you are, take a look at your keyboard. You’re likely to be looking at a long, rectangular plastic board embedded with around 100 keys, each of which has been printed with at least one letter, number or symbol. An important observation is that all of your keys are probably separate from each other. Magnets Make An Attractive Display

When I was younger I participated in the local county fair. For such a small town, our fair was pretty large in scale, and they had a section for animals, as well as a section for plants, crafts, paintings and collections displays. My collection was key chains, and man did I have a lot of them. My dad made this custom cork board for me and we hung all of my key chains on that for a pretty cool display. Rubber Keypads- The Key to Office Health?

Rubber keypads and keyboards are just like traditional pads and keyboards, but instead of having individual keys, the entire board is covered with a membrane layer that eliminates exposure of the internal components of the keypad.
