Stainless steel is a metal alloy appreciated for its high levels of strength and resistance to corrosion, which, for many other metals, cause rust, stain and other degenerate effects. A common form of stainless steel is the tube. Tubing is a hollow, cylindrical form applied in a variety of equipment used for transporting fluids from one location to another and stainless steel is the favored material for such precisely because of its attractive characteristics. Stainless steel tube manufacturers, using welding, metal spinning or extrusion procedures, produce stainless steel tubes for varying customers, including but certainly not limited to the automotive, petrochemical, semiconductor, medical and dental industries. Welding requires forming stainless steel via rolling and connecting the formed portions through fusion, resulting in seams along the completed tube. Welding is sometimes preferred among stainless steel tubing manufacturers because it accomplishes a greater level of precision without the need for any further processes. Metal spinning is a “cold worked” metal manufacturing method in which a metal spinner uses a flat round disc of sheet metal that is rotating on a spinning lathe. Manufacturing concentric shapes like tubes and pipes is the only context in which metal spinning is utilized. The most common kinds of tubing are those which are seamless. Seamless stainless steel tubing are formed using an extrusion process, in which a solid billet is drawn over a piercing rod, creating a hollow, seamless shell.
