Manufacturing stainless steel tubes is a complicated business that entails numerous steps, a variety of equipment and a team of experienced engineers who have good attention to detail. A mill is one such highly significant component in the manufacturing process, as they are machines depended upon to perform a wide variety of operations, including everything from cutting, planning and drilling to contouring and desinking. Stainless steel tubing mills are, naturally, those very machines used in the fabrication of stainless steel tubing.
The processes required to the initial unprocessed stainless steel stock to the fully formed and finished stainless steel tube varies depending on the intended use of each particular stainless steel tube, but will incorporate at least one of the following processes: welding, metal spinning or extrusion. As you can probably assume, welding involves fusing together separately formed components, spinning involves a spinning lathe and extrusion involves forcing the stainless steel through a series of dies.
