Chillers come in many different shapes and in many different sizes. They can be small and portable as well as large and stationary. They can range from a couple of feet tall to ten feet tall or more. They can be purchased used or new. And they can be manufactured to standard dimensions or they can be custom made to fit a specific application. Chillers can be used in a multitude of different industries for many different applications.

Chillers can be used in the plastics, injection molding, printing, laser, rubber, food and beverage, air conditioning, anodizing and medical industries. Each industry has a particular use for chillers. For example the medical industry uses chillers to cool down very expensive equipment like MRI machines and X-Ray machines. These chillers must be custom made for these machines. If the very useful and important medical equipment get overheated, they could break or require a very costly repair. Additionally, if the machine get too hot, a longer cool down period is required before the next patient can use the machine.

Another example of a custom chiller use is in the plastics industry. The blown, extruded, injected or stamped hot plastic needs to be cooled down to create the products according to the dimensions of the design. Expansion is expected but difficult to calculate with hot plastic and chillers are one of the only ways to control the expansion.
